I don't know what you are talking about but yes a 17 year old is still a child and that is that. However, if a 17 year old is going to date then of course they should date another 17 year old.

I do not agree.
17 year olds are close enough to adults. It's like the transition stage because you can't be a child and the next day become an adult (18th birthday).

When the 17 year old becomes 18 then the relationship will have to stop but do want you want to when the law comes a calling and they put your picture on a sexual predator hot list on the net, so just trying to warn you .

I agree. I think it would be awkward for a 17 year old to date someone twice their age. But then again, who am I to judge?
17 is still a young age to do anything - especially tying the knot.

If a person is a child they shouldn't be dating. Dating is something that should happen when you are emotionally ready for. If you are still in jr high or high school, you have other things to worry about like am I going to graduate, what am I going to be doing with the rest of my life, etc. Not whether or not the boy next to me likes me.
I'm not saying don't have fun, but prioritize things. Dating will come eventually.
Dating = sex = RESPONSIBILITES / CONSEQUENCES

I totally dissagree as 17 year olds are bordering on becoming adults and are more inclined to start pushing for sex wich is illegal with a minor. The age gap would be no problem if they were both of consenting age.

Sorry but I totally don't agree..... I was sixteen when i met my husband and he was 26, now that may sound wrong to someone who's just small minded but that was 6 years ago and we are still madly inlove and now have a child !! you cannot judge people by their age, your solemate is always gonna be out there no matter what age!!!!

well, as a parent, I would say it depends on the child...
In general, a 17 year old child can go out with who they want, IF the parents agree with their choice!

I don't know where these comments you made came from but, maybe your baby sitter should monitor your computer usage, and if you don't need a babysitter than you're not a child are you?

I agree with you but in some states 17 is legal age. I know it is where I live in Texas.
