It depends on where you live. There are a few states (Alabama and Texas come immediately to mind) where the Age of Consent is 16; thus what you're proposing is perfectly legal.

You should be able to look up your state laws online....

Legally states differ. But if you mean morally. I think people have to be in someone's shoes before they should answer that. I am 32 my husband is 26. We met when he was 17 and I was 23. I know people are thinking OMG but guess what. We were totally in love and we got married(7years now) And we have a baby boy. You know what? At first people gave us a real hard time about it. but if you really love someone regardless of age, race, and so on I think once you decide to not care what other people think it really does not matter. I also think it is what has made us stronger as a couple.

well is the 19 yr old a guy and 17 yur old a girl--- then most def yes.

if it was switched, i still say yes, but us ladies like the mature, experienced men, and im not talking in a sexual manner. im talking in life. U wana go out with a 17 yr old guy whose just ending high school, while u have already experienced college, prob not. think bout thsoe things, then decide. if u like him, and love is all that matters, then go 4 it! good luck!!

If you guys get along and have the same "maturity", then why not? Age is not a big deal, just a little difference, but maturity is because girls tend to mature faster than guys, so look into it, and if you guys like each other, and think you can work things out, then go ahead, and don't let your friends get in your case.....be happy, seize the moment.

if he is 19 and u are 16 then yes. if it is the other way around it may seem different bc most people do not do it this way, but that does not mean it is bad, just make sure that both parties are comfortable. you have to be comfortable mostly because he'll think it is cool, just make sure you guys are on the same maturity level.

Date? Yes. Boink? No. And I'm vaguely disturbed by all the answers so far that seem to think the two are inextricable - as if you're not really boyfriend and girlfriend if you aren't shagging like rabbits!

Yeah, but they can't have sex or else the 20 year old can get arrested for statutory rape. Keep it in the pants until they are18 for legal and emotional reasons.

The answer is No. The reason is its against state laws. You will need to wait til she is 18. This way you won't go to jail.
