The bible has to be read in context. everyone knows adultery is wrong because even a non christian conscience tells someone that cheating is bad. The bible is not intended for use to pick and choose. it is intended to believed in whole and in context along with guidance from the holy spirit. God knows his heart and will deal with him because God is the judge. The ten commandments speak against adultery and it hardly takes a genius to see that!! He is a fool if he thinks he can play around with God, because at the end of the day sin always finds you out.

I am a firm believer that we need to leave the bible alone and quit making new versions. I use the King James Version and I really believe that with every new version man is trying to make changes to the meaning of the scriptures to justify themselves.
Revelations 22-18:19 warns us not to add to nor take away from the prophecy of this book or the plagues will be added to them. I feel like this may pertain to the whole bible. I really believe we should not try to twist or change the scripture in any way.
18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Uh, how does 1 John 2:19 justify an affair?
1 John 2:19 (New International Version)
They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
They also fall into this scripture as well...
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
The rules of God is not multiple choice. The are to accept 100%. We are to conform to the word of God, and not expect God to allow us to sin just because it;'s want a sinner wants to do.
There is a price to pay for disobeying God. And those who do disobey Him will find out first hand and soon.

All readers/beleivers in the Bible twist it to fit their own agendas. Seeing as Heaven, God and Hell do not exist, nothing will happen to those people that wont also happen to you. They will live their lives and end up dead one day, buried under six feet of dirt, turning back into the carbon they originated from. Have no fear...hjand your cheating husband his Bible, shove it up his azz where it belongs, and get a real man that actually has morals.....

Your hubby and his lover will be judged for what they have done. Many people do interpret scripture to suit themselves and God is not happy about it. It's clear that adultery is a no-no (my husband did it too btw) and hard as it is, as much as I want revenge, I am praying hard that God will keep me from exacting revenge, because that's not my place.
We are also financially mucked up to the point we are having to sell our house. Mostly his fault. Sorry for what you are going through.

They wrist ( twist ) they Scriptures to their own destruction, is exactly what the Bible says happens.
What would happen if you took money, home-made some copies of it a tried to spend it? Can we all say "prison time". What happens if you take God's word, make your own version of it, and try to pass it off as the real deal? God knows what his Word says/means, he won't be fooled by a counterfeit.

Which scripture that is quoted and HOW they are quoted depends upon how it is taken. - I have heard many scriptures intentionally misused as each made their point to fit that scenario.
Consider 1John3:16. Many "theologians" read / misread that to imply many perspectives, by emphasizing each word, individually.
%I suggest reading the scripture AS IT WAS WRITTEN (in Greek, if you can translate) to gain a more CONCRETE understanding of each theme.
KEEP IN MIND *the setting* that each Mega-theme presents. - The time, being over 2 millenia ago, opens many windows of debate as to WHOM (that culture or today's life) each idea explains.

That's just wrong. The scriptures NEVER condone affairs, I am not even going to bother looking at those passages. They grossly misinterpreted the bible, and you can take comfort in the fact that they are wrong and you are right. And that you will be rewarded for your suffering. I am not saying that these people are going to hell because I don't condemn people, but I know that you will be recompensed for your intense sorrows.

You mean people like Roberts, Hovind, Swaggart, and Falwell? Nothing unless they get caught at it and called on it.
As for your hubby...he's a liar and a scumbag and if you want to fight him with scriptures use the Ten Commandments.
