I have a theory:

When / how old / where were you when you found out the truth about Saint Nick?

I think that most of us remember all those details cause we were so traumatized about hearing the truth that it has been burned into our memory... Care to share?

I was the youngest of five brothers and I can't say I actually believed in Santa after the age of about 4. No one explicitly said Santa didn't exist until I was about 7 and I wasn't traumatized since it was obvious by my brothers actions Santa wasn't real.

We continued playing the Santa Claus game until I was in my early teens, but we all knew it was a game, so it wasn't taken seriously.

Kind of like when a guy tells his wife Santa is going to bring her a present on Christmas and how she shouldn't be snooping around the house beforehand.

I actually wasn't traumatized at all. I kind of had my suspicions and then Christmas morning I determined that santa wrote just like my mom. I think I was like 7 or 8.

I've always known as a child that there was only St. Nicholas and not Santa Claus. I was not traumatized one bit. Sorry....

I was probably around 8 years old. I would sneak downstairs and watch my parents setting up the presents. I liked that my parents enjoyed it. Soo... I didn't tell them i didn't believe in sanat till i was 13. It was soo much fun just to pretend and I had 2 younger sisters that i had to tell that santa was real. I think it was just a lot of fun. Nothing to be taken to seriously.

I was in grade 4. I was getting the idea that he wasnt real because he would always use the same wrapping paper as my parents did but my teacher eventually confirmed it. My teacher told the class that he wasn't real and I was shocked! I told my mom and she came to school and yelled at my teacher! GO MOM

well, i wasn't much of a good boy when i was young. so i can't blame santa for paying me a visit, right?
since i was so caught up in learning black-magic from my grandma when i was about that age for santa to know that if i'm a good boy or maybe not.

I was 10 and figured it out for myself. I asked my father if I was right and he asked me not to tell my younger sister. NO trauma, easy and I still love to spend a little time in fantasy land....
