It is up to the Islamic Scholar that is translating it.

Some teach Peace, some teach Hate.

Either side can be justified in the Qumran and there is no central leadership to say who is right and who is wrong.

Google Islam in Iran, or Sudan.

Peace!

Quran literally is the constitution of a Muslim or Islamic society. It teaches us to establish justice and that mercy is better than justice. It specifies roles for men and women, where men are made incharge of the present and women are made responsible for the development of the future of society by raising good children. Men therefore are required to die to protect women and children so that the future of Islam is secure.

Quran also deals with the social issues of proper distribution of wealth, so that the rich share their bounties with the poor, and everyone help the destitute and weak, so everyone would have a support system.

Quran also teaches us to be good to our parents, as they raised us and we are doing what we are doing in life because of their hard work and sacrifices. Quran also teaches us to treat our neighbors well, our family and fellow human beings properly and even animals and plants should be treated properly as they are all created by God Almighty for a purpose.

Quran also teaches that the good should be strong and defend against the evil ones on any side. Quran also teaches that there are good people in all religions and faiths.

Quran 22:40 says..... ".... had not God protected some with the help of others, all monasteries, churches, synagogues, mosques and ALL PLACES OF WORSHIP where the name of God is taken night and day would have been destroyed".

People who teach that Quran does not tolerate other faiths are either ignorant or are malicious.

Thus Quran wants to breed a tolerant, educated, good society which functions in a balanced manner, taking care of the poor and the needy, while defending itself from attacks.

The core of the Quran is monotheism, that is, Belief in ONE GOD. This becomes the foundation of peace, as ONE GOD made everyone. So you can not say to someone, hey you are not made by my God so I can take your property or hurt you. When a Muslim sincerely believes that there is ONLY ONE GOD and that He is ALL POWERFUL, then a good Muslim can not really hurt the creatures of his God. If you love Rembrandt, you would not destroy his paintings as that would be absurd to do.

So, Monotheism is the foundation of peaceful co-existence.

I hope this makes sense.
