Does listening to a certain kind of music show the personality of that person?

I think music is great. It can maybe give a little bit of insight to how a person is, but I don't think it is a major indication.
I like all music, r&b, rock, pop, 80's (my favorite) and a bunch others. I usually just like songs, not always a genre of music. One genre isn't all good and one isn't all crap.
It's a personal preference. My playlists go more off of my mood. When I am pissed i listen to Hard rock, when I'm sad I listen to sad stuff until it makes me sick of being sad, then I listen to upbeat stuff when I'm in a good mood.

I dont it can tell a bit about someones personality. I listen to all kinds of music from R&B, Pop, rock, alternative, classical, I love Patsy Cline (country), jazz.....I love music. It surprises most to know my fav group in the world at this moment is Linkin Park and I'm 37.

I use to really enjoy Country Music. However, lately its been on a slow, downward trend. Its just not as good as it use to be. Its seems like "anyone" can become a country singer if they have the money to pay for a record! So, lately I've been listening to alot of Southern Rock C.D.'s. Love that music!

i prefer hip hop or reggae, but i grew up with a hippie mom so i love me some zeplin, floyd, doors and CCR.
i do think taste in music gives a tiny bit of insight into the personality. but you cant always depend on it. at the most the person might just be open to different kinds of music, you never know.

No, there are lots of different ppl that are gonna like the same music. So, different personalities, different music.....different ppl. ....everytime.
I listen to Rock, Pop, and depending on the song, sometimes Country

Yo listen to rap then your like a gangter.
i Mostly listen to pop and rap.

yes i believe it does to a certain degree as well it can also effect your moods and personally i like a mixture of rock and country the oldies music and gospel my favorite station is my102.5 light rock and country mix

I hear to almost each and everything - my style is amazingly ecclectic. My well-known however is Jazz, Rock and R&B yet I hear to a pair united states of america, hip hop, pop...noticeably a lot each and everything yet digital dance track - that makes me wanna throw up in my mouth...

hmm.... i like some rock and punk... I listen to nine inch nails..she wants revenge..... NOFX.... and i like some of mxpx songs but not all..... oh and some by The killers to but not all.......
i don't like country....i like that song promiscuous girl by Nelly Furtado... umm i listen to some R&B but not alot just mostly punk...
i think it does show up in the personality.. i have dark red hair... i'm nice so really lol idk... i just like this question... =)
