The TSA has a complete list of approved and prohibited items:

http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

And yes, no toiletries are allowed, including deodorant.

Deodorants are NOT permitted in carry on bags. Either buy new stuff once you get there or check to see if the hotel you'll be staying in has free toiletries.

For further info, check the TSA website at tsa.gov

You either check the bag or buy travel size toiletries when you get where you're going and throw them away when you leave. It's a waste to me but it is an option. I would check my bag and forget about it. Don't forget to put your stuff in a zip bag so the pressure doesn't make them explode on your clothes.

Go to the airline website you're traveling on and see what they have posted.

I think the toiltries thing is over, but your best bet is to check the airliner's website or check the news. Last airplane trip I took was aday before the hub-ub and that was getting home, so I don't really know.

If you check in your bag it shouldn't be a problem. However, if you're carrying it on they might not let you. Depending on what airline you're traveling on, there should be information on what you can't bring especially since it is red and orange alert in certain places. If you don't want to lose anything that you feel you can't replace, I wouldn't take it with you. Hope that helps.

Go to the airline's website and check as they all vary slightly.
