Ok so here's my problem. I like this guy and so does a good friend of mine. I really want him to like me (and I think he does...but I 'm not sure) but I really don't want to hurt my friend. She knows that we both like him, so I think that there might be a bit of compition. Sooooo, any advice to have him like me but not hurt a friend?

You have to decide what is more important. Your friendship or this guy. If you think the guy's not "the one" then you should just leave him alone and let your friend have him. Friendship is more important than any guy.

I have been friends with my best friend since kindergarten, that's 19 years. The only way that we have made it this long is that we never competed for a guy or anything else really. If she wanted a guy she could have him and if I wanted a guy she backed off. That meant that if both of us liked a guy neither of us pursued him.

It worked for us and our many years of friendship speaks for itself.

Honestly? Since she already knows that you both like him, you're doomed. Whether you do anything to influence him or not, if he starts expressing interest in you and not her, she'll accuse you of stealing him. Your best hope is that he goes for her first and things don't work out. Which really is a horrid thing to hope for.

It can't happen. Don't choose a guy over a friendship. Guys come and go, but friends stick around forever.

I went through this in middle school and lost the guy AND the friend when she knew I liked him but went with him anyway. I would just leave him alone.

if you want to save the friendship you BOTh need to leave this dude alone. You cannot get the guy and keep the friend if you both like him.

Boyfriends come and go, but a friend is forever. Be careful of your choices. Is he really worth it? Good luck!
