At what age did you notice your child or little sister or brother or niece or nephew knowing about God? Did you find out in a suprising way?

I ask because when my daughter was barely able to speek we hadn't been tor church and didn't really speak much about God. (We weren't Christians yet) Well I was at my mothers house and she looked up at a picture of Jesus on the wall and said "God" "Mommy it God" I was suprised because none of us had discussed that with her. I know the picture of Jesus probably didn't look what the real Christ did, but somehow she related it to God.

Ok.... to those of you who doubt my story, let me also point out that, it was our first time at my mothers house since she was born and it was the first couple of minutes we were there.

The Lord says "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you:"

I would like to believe,[tho not scriptural] that the innocent babies come so fresh from God, and because of their pure hearts, they recognize or are more in tune to the Spirit of God and His extreme Love. So, God knew us before we were formed in the womb, perhaps little ones knew Him before they were formed in the womb?

And you are right the picture of Christ is probably not how Jesus looked. But, that picture is recognized thru out the world, whether they believe or not, as Jesus, God's Son. The artist captured the Love in His eyes. Perhaps that is why she knew in her heart, the Love in the eyes was God.

Just what I believe, Out of the mouths of babes!

But when Jesus saw it ;He was greatly displeased and said to them," Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly,I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them. Mark 10:14-16

That is such a beautiful story. Thanks for sharing it! How old was your daughter? I'll definately share your story with others. Here are two stories I know of about children of young ages--but they are not mine, I read one in a book and the other I saw on Unsolved Mysteries (of all places!).

One mother's child was born and almost died at birth. I cannot recall why. When the child was about 3 years old, her mother took her to the park. The child randomly came over to her mother and said, "Mommy, can you smell that?" And the mother said, "Yes, it smells like it is going to rain." "No, mommy," the child responded, "it smells like God when you put your head on His chest."

This story is a little disturbing, I think. A family had moved into a new home. Out of nowhere, the youngest child (about 4 or 5 I think) started screaming for his mother. His mom rushed in and picked him and gradually soothed him until he had calmed down again. He was unable to tell her why he was screaming. About 2 or 3 weeks later, he was at his grandmother's house playing. He began screaming again. When the grandmother came to pick him up, he pointed at the picture of Saint Michael standing over a devil and told her that the creature in the picture was what he saw at the house 2 or 3 weeks earlier. This story kind of freaked me out since one always thinks that children are immune to such things, but unfortunately, this isn't the last story of children seeing evil things as opposed to good beings that I've come across.

Thanks for reading. God Bless!

Cool story!

I have a little brother in 2nd grade. I remember when he first started praying out loud. It was really cool. He was probably around 3ish and he would pray for 20 minutes or longer if Mom or Dad would let him go on and on. He would bless every person he knew, and many he didn't. He would even bless the cats and dogs and the stars. I remember Mom in tears after a few of his prayers. She said she had never seen such a young kindred heart.

with the aid of fact at an identical time as loads of people are interested in reading those religions, Christianity is the main dominant interior the U. S., and subsequently the only that gets the main interest. it rather is one element to income a faith for inner maximum know-how and yet another to objective and comprehend a faith whose adherents have the capacity to impression my life. I ask and answer various questions relating to Christianity with the aid of fact i replaced into raised Christian, gave it up, and stay in a usually Christian us of a. It outcomes me as a result i'm extra irritating approximately it than say Hinduism, which has little to no impact on me.

It really depends. One of my daughters has always been aware of God. My twins (age 2 1/2) are still oblivious.

The Bible speaks of a common grace that all people have been given. A longing for something above and beyond our mortal existence. This common grace often leads to saving grace, which is a specific faith in God. Sounds like your daughter is already there.

Thank you for asking!

My little boy about 3 years old when we took him to Holy Mass, and as the priest held the Holy Host to be consecrated in the air, my boy pointed out to the Holy Host and yelled: "Baby Jesus!" And he never talks in Mass or anything. I always take him to church and teach him about God, but this surprised me.

"And a child shall lead them."

Bless you.

Remember children are innocent and they will tell you what is in their hearts and what they feel. They can see the spiritual things like angels and God and will tell us so.

Instruct them in the faith.

many believe that a child's mind is more in tune with the supernatural than a "learned" adult. children believe what you tell them, which is why Jesus told us to come to Him "as little children". He wants us to believe Him regardless of what others say.

WOW,

Cool story.

Our kids went to Church from a real young age, so I can't point to one thing.

But it is nice to see them asking me to pray for them now that they are 14 and 17. We are so Blessed!

Peace!
