NO,
i would wonder what a 17 yr oild would have in common with a 14 year old, other than being attracted to them physically.

Yes, but you 2 are on different planets. The 17 yo is thinking about graduating, the 14 yo is thinking of the next date. The 17 yo is planning for a job or college or a career. The 14 yo is still in the middle of school and will be for 3 more years. The 17 yo has life experiences that the 14 yo won't for 3 more years and the 17 yo uses those experiences to avoid situations that the 14 yo hasn't even seen yet.

You 2 can date, but the future of the relationship would be unsteady at best. At age 14 stick to 14yo and 15yo only. They're more in your league.

HUGE difference in maturity level. HUGE. Enormous. Too big a difference for them to date. If they were 33 and 30 it would be different, but a 14 year old is just entering puberty, still remembers playing kid games. A 17 year old is pretty much through puberty, nearly grown, can drive, and could easily live on their own (I did at that age). No way a 14 year old could.

Yes...until the 17 year old turns 18. Then they can't until the 14 year also turns 18.

i dont believe it is, but then its tricky, i understand that as a girl of 14 is so much more mature than boys her own age. however from personal experience, those 3 years make all the difference. you will learn so much in the next few years, things that he has already learn't. the majority of guys feel they have to be with a younger girl because they have nothing to give a girl their own age. some guys go with younger girls because they can minipulate them without them realising. if you really like this guy and feel he has been brought up well with morals and respect. and that sex is not the only thing on his mind then theres no reason why you carn't spend time together. from experience if he has any respect for you he will want to wait untill you are 16 and also feel ready. respect is the most important issue esspecially in a situation like this. he shouldn't even try it on if he respects you fully.

No- definatly not- 17 year olds and 14 years olds want different things out of a relationship and are at very different places in life- it may not feel that way now but it will show itself over time and one or both will end up getting hurt. I hope that helps I know it's not easy in these situations.

No. In most states, the Maximum number of years allowed between couples under 18 is 2 years. If the 14-year-old's parents find out, he could be arrested for rape and molestation, even if sex was consensual.
Just avoid it all together.

Why can't this 17-year-old get a girl his own age?
Is the 14-year-old easy? Is he using her?

He can until he turns 18, then he has to go, and wait until she is legal.

If he bangs her once he turns 18 it is rape if her parents find out. She will not have a say in the matter until she gets to the legal age (which you said was 17)

I think it is too early for the 14-year-old person to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. Why not just be good friends and wait until he/she is older before starting a romantic relationship? Love is sweet but can also be emotionally demanding. Can the 14-year-old cope with it?

SUre! As long as they're both up to it, both trust each other and are both willing to accept their age difference, especially when he goes off to college and she's still in high school. Otherwise, it's perfectly legal and everything- just be sure htey know they will most likely break up in a year or so (not saying they will, but there's a big chance of it )wish them good luck from me!
