My boyfriend of several years has been taking me for granted, being selfish & putting everything & everyone before me. I have been trying to pull away, detach, and focus on other things in my life. He said all summer that we were going to go places and do things but we never did. We dont live together. My girlfriend & I booked a trip & my plane leaves Friday. I have been telling him that I was going for weeks. He called me today, & acts surprised when I told him I was packing for my trip! (I havent heard from him in 2 days). I guess he thought I was lieing about going & this was just another one of my games to get him to pay attention to me. Now he is saying he wants to see me before I go. Lately he acts like he could care less if I was dead or alive. And then he says can we have sex before you go so you wont forget about me! Why all the concern now? Should I just go & not see him before I leave? Should I call while I am away? Maybe this will open his eyes... HELP

u r right he s taking u for granted
now that u have a trip coming up he shows concern
noticed the sudden change
if u really want to be with him and have his attention
start making yourself not too available
if he calls u make it a short convo
now i tell u this if u dont see him before u leave u r asking for a big fight n maybe a break up if u dont want that
go and see him
but dont give him anything cuz he doesnt derserve it
have a nice trip

i would go on the trip and leave the b/f at home. You don't need selfish people in your life. The last thing you need is to be bogged down with this in your head all the time either.
Take a trusted friend along. Get a new b/f when you get back.

Seeing him before you go is up to you. Do you want to see him ? Call while your away but only once or twice and make sure your gf doesn't let you call when you get drunk. You will say things you will regret. He probably thought you were just jerking his chain when you said you would go and now he has to pay the price. Go and have a great time. He and you deserve it.
