A Transsexual is a person whose brain believes that they are in the body of opposite gender.
If you are wondering if you are one then the key element is there a desire to live 24/ in the form of the opposite gender and change the body to match.
Speaking from first hand knowledge, I am a pre-op Transsexual.

IMHO, transsexuals are extremely 'brave' (not trying to be condescending but I am having a brain spasm and cant find the right word!)
What I mean by that is, not being talked out of anything by anyone and going ahead and realising their wants and needs and actually living their lives instead of exisiting!! Good on you!!

? Nt sure what the question is here. I have friends who are transexuals and are much happier. It is better for someone to be happy than depressed and trapped all their lives.

you either love em or hate em !!! personally i think leave them be they no how they feel and it cant be easy for them with the bigotry they suffer from and theres alot more to worry about in the world than some ones gender issues

if their happy with who they are then thats good for them i have nothing against them its their lifes at the end of the day and people should respect them for who they are
