I am planning on buying a LCD/plasma flat screen television. I am willing to spend about 1500 US dollars and would like one that is HDTV. I would like the largest screen possible for my budget. I was looking at LG's. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

In your price range, you should be able to get a good 32" TV in either plasma or LCD. LG, Samsung and others make very good sets, There is not a big difference in picture quality betwen LCD and plasma, but the pictures "look" different. You should go to a store and look at both sets. Plasmas look "snappier" (bright colors, high contrast), while LCDs look smoother. Most LCDs will have higher resolution than the plasmas (check the pixel counts), but the difference isn't great. In all other respects, both kinds will offer good performance and durability. LCDs look better in bright room environments, plasmsa look better in darker rooms. Plasmas are heavier and use more power, get warmer during operatlion. Do not believe stories about plasmas having short lifetimes, or need "recharging"; none of that is true anymore. Even "burn-in" (permanent retention of an image that was stationary on the screen for a long time), which is a concern with plasmas, has been significantly reduced and is no longer an issue under normal use (TV viewing). So, look at the sets, look at the specs, and make your own decision.

I'm on the market too. For $1500 you can get a nice 42" plasma. I've decided to go with the Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV. Go to cnet.com for good reviews.
