What do people think of the rise of 25p for over 80s given 3 years ago. was it an insult to the elderly or did the government really think it was going to be of use and for what. I dont think i have ever seen or read anyone make a comment about it, but my comment is who ever gave the go ahead must have meant to insult the aged

Most people over the age of 84, either fought in the war(male), or suffered losses and hardship because of it. They fought for their country and risked their lives to make it FREE. We would be living quite different lives now if Hitler had been victorious. The very least we can do for the elderly is to ensure that their remaining years are spent in dignity. The 25p increase does not need a mention, other than to say it is not worth the typing. Remember all you wisecrackers out there, you will be old yourselves one day. Respect. I am not a pensioner ,far from it, but I have taught my children a love for the elderly.

it really is conventional of any authorities they offer OAPs and those who're unemployed (those that prefer to artwork) a pittance of an advance even as each and every thing is increasing in value. they offer themselves valuable fat rises of countless 1000's of kilos each and every three hundred and sixty 5 days and inflation info pensions that we stupid sods that artwork for low wages finally end up buying. And by employing the way council tax might want to be scrapped as well enable's settle for all of it the council contributors take a seat on there arses questioning up loony schemes and what to spend our funds on as well on themselves,

This the first I heard about it. I am certain that every little bit helps at that age, a more generous raise than the 25% would indeed be welcomed by everyone and I hope it is automatically added and increased by next Year

Pensioners had been asking for a rise equal to the rate of inflation and that is what they got, so don't blame the government for giving them what they asked for

I am aged. If you are aged, do you think that you are entitled, and if so, who's going to pay ?

Why expect someone to pay - - total selfishness !!

Lady Sam, how come they deserve ? You don't know what kind of people they are. Have they contributed , for example ??
