My boyfriend of several years has been taking me for granted, being selfish & putting everything & everyone before me. I have been trying to pull away, detach, and focus on other things in my life. He said all summer that we were going to go places and do things but we never did. We dont live together. My girlfriend & I booked a trip & my plane leaves Friday. I have been telling him that I was going for weeks. He called me today, & acts surprised when I told him I was packing for my trip! (I havent heard from him in 2 days). I guess he thought I was lieing about going & this was just another one of my games to get him to pay attention to me. Now he is saying he wants to see me before I go. Lately he acts like he could care less if I was dead or alive. And then he says can we have sex before you go so you wont forget about me! Why all the concern now? Should I just go & not see him before I leave? Should I call while I am away? Maybe this will open his eyes... HELP

ditch him. he sounds like a loser. if u KNOW he doesn't treat u well, why are u staying? u are letting him treat u that way. if he was good to u and part of ur life, he would've known u were going, maybe even gone w/ you on ur trip! but he chose to be a stupid guy, not a MAN.
Do NOT have sex w/ him before u leave.. ur just letting him get what he wants every single damn time. let him work things out when u get back, if u really want to. but he better try DAMN hard to make things better, cuz u deserve more than that! i'd rather be single than have some lazy a** guy on my back!

I would tell him that your very busy gettin ready for your trip and that your not sure about seeing him. Maybe you could do dinner or something and thats it. I would definately not have sex with him!! If he truly wants to see you then he will make the attempt. And while your on vacation...you and your girlfriend leave your phones off and in the room. If he calls you...then eventually call him back. This may sounds harsh, but he treats you this way cause you allow him to. Stand up for yourself and let him know your not dealing with his bs. Going on this vacation was definately a step in the right direction for you. Go, have FUN and don't worry about him. I'm sure you could do better anyways!! :)

Sounds to me as if the trip is long overdue... So is replacing that boyfriend. Enjoy life, if he can't deal with it that will be his short-coming... Bon Voyage... take plenty of pics and have a great time. Especially take pics of all the good looking guys there and make sure he sees them..... I would say he is going to hit the road when you get back anyway... might as well help him along.
Can you imagine a lifetime with a man like him? I didn't think so... anyway you're not losing much and he is easily replaced...

DONT SEE HIM BEFORE YOU LEAVE (especially if all he wants is sex!)
call him and tell him why you will not see him because he is neglecting you
let him see what its like to not have you
then while you are on vacation try to hook up with a hot guy!
when you return he better say he has missed you terribly and he better change his actions
if hasnt changed when you return DUMP THE LOSER
you deserve better, all women deserve to be cherished
