i think it must depend on where you are and if most of the group is working mothers or stay at home mom. working mothers generally have to look much more professional than stay at home moms. Also I have seen a difference in mother's age in factor in in how they look. i know some moms that won't even go to the corner store without make up.
as long as you are presentable and don't look like something that cat dragged in I wouldn't sweat it. I don't do the make-up never have never really will. when I lived closer to Boston MA. the woman all were dressier now that I am in a rural place they aren't as dressy.

Actually they do get up at 4 in the morning, so their husbands dont see them before they get "all pretty".
Dont worry they are the ones that have maids and nannys and time to work out at the gym, girls night out and petty cash for having their toenails hand painted with little seasonally apropriate images.
Id rather sleep and look like crap when I arrive.
My kids are supposed to warn me If I forget to take my hair down, I do draw the line at looking like a Dr. Seuss character

It's all a question of priorities. If I'm home for the day, I'm not glamming up for the preschool line. If I have work to do after dropping off my daughter, I might look made up. Usually I opt for sleep over make up, though!!!

Personally speaking, and one can only go by ones own experience. Nanny gets children up and ready, cook makes the breakfast and hair sylist comes in each morning a 7am.
Well thats how it would be if i wasn't one of those hiding at the school gate with my tracksuit pulled over my pjs and toast and jam in my hair.

It's called taking pride in your appearance. I don't do the school run caked up in make up but have to make an effort, think of the impression that it gives the teachers if you can't be bothered to run a comb through your hair. How do they think you bring your kids up? Too many women stop making the effort when they become a Mum.
And yes I do work too so don't have all day to sort myself out!!

They spend a whole hour every day fixing their hair EVERY DAY. They think it will get them more raises or less teasing or something like that. Its a weird female ritual that I can't figure out either mostly. Why not just braid it into a long braid, its the prettiest hairstyle and seems easy too.

well i think it is a god idea to not be done up to the nines EVERY DAY because then people get to see different sides of you. f you go out on the town you want to look stunning not like you do when you are dropping the kids off. i think thees women need to get a life
