I recently have ran upon this problem that I am having thats really getting to me and I want to make it stop. Let me start off by describing the situation. I am in high school and up untill this year I have slacked off in class and still made perfect grades. I still make As this year outside of one AP class that is ridiculously hard. But it's getting to the point where I can't slack as much and its becoming painfully obvious to me. Here is my issue I am not in any classes with my girlfriend but she is still continuing to make the 100s that I want. It makes me feel inferior and not as smart as her and I don't like it and I am really stressed about it. I think it may be a matter of teachers but I'm not sure. Honestly I don't think shes actually smarter then me but I might just be lying to myself. Any consolation or tips on what to do (about feeling inferior) and whats up with this crazy change, anything comforting would be nice.

you better get used to the thought that being inferior to anybody else is not a disaster, it's life.Maybe it would be smart if you started working for your class for a change?
Maybe her classes are actually much harder than yours, and you have been lucky so far to get along as well as you have?
Be happy you got a smart girlfriend instead of a dumb one.
I don't think you need any consolation you need a reality adjustment. And better fast, for if you gripe about that I wouldn't want to hang out with you if I were your girlfriend.

You shouldn't be focusing on who is smarter. You should be worried about doing the best in class that you can & giving her credit for doing good. Stop trying to run a race by yourself. I'm sure she would never say you wasn't as smart as her. Focus on school cause that is a key to a career.Who is smarter makes you look like your on an ego trip.

The statistics show that women tend to get higher grades today and do better than guys... a lot of the time
Don't feel inferior, it's most likely the fact that they have male teachers and that she has boobs and you don't... thus she gets in better with the teachers
Yes, the sad reality is that teachers ARE bias... Don't feel bad if she's beating you, it's not a contest

grades are all about who is the smartest, it is a combination of knowledge retention and work ethic. She may be working harderm abd that is why she is still getting the 100's and you are not. Ask yourself what you want and if it is to have grades that are as a good or better than her you need to work that hard, quit slacking. My personal experience has taught me that grades are not everything, find what you want and go for it.

A little healthy competition is good... But maybe she works harder than you? You said that you don't even try and you slack. I really don't think that you should be comparing intellects at all. I mean, not only is it a mean thing to do with someone you're supposed to like, but it doesn't really have any benefits. Unless it makes you decide to try a little harder and get better grades.

stop being jealous of her grades and be happy for her! You are obviously intelligent yourself...and you have decided to challange yourself with AP classes. You cant compare your lower scores in that class to the regular classes she takes. Just chill out and be glad your gf has a brain. Really, thats priceless.
