your car is about due for front brakes by now. Around 40,000 miles most altimas have already replaced pads and resurfaced the rotors. Start looking for tires even if they look good Continetial Contact tires loose grip at 35,000 and you would not think that by looking at the tread. But either Toyo or Bridgstone size is on the drivers door jamb and replace all four.

on the front calipers theres a little metal tab and when your brake shoes start going that tab starts to hit the rotor, its supposed to be a pre-warning thing , just remove it wont hurt nothing then u might want to use a lite grade sandpaper on the rotors see if that helps good luck
