I finished with the proper introduction and stuff like that with some person, but on day 2, what do you talk about to the potential friend in class? I guess it has been so long since I actually made a friend. Like do I greet them everyday and talk to them? and what am i suppose to talk about?

You need to find out the friends interests and then study up on it, then conversation will come very easy. Imagine how often you would talk to someone else who always wanted to talk about what interested you!
Pay attention to their conversations with others and see if something continues to come up, if it does bingo you know what you need to know more about.

Greet them, say hello, and if your friend responds by asking questions or how are you, say fine and take it from there. If all you get is a hello back, smile and keep walking.

Just short conversations, make small talk.
Eventually in time, they will be your friend!
