You can buy dog diapers at any petstore and some grocery stores. We used Depends and just cut a hole for her tail.

Before I tell you this, I SWEAR I am telling the truth.

My old roomie had a cat. She went into heat b/c she didn't have her fixed soon enough so the vet told her to do this (and he mentioned it would work on any animal in heat):

1) Put some petroleum jelly on a q-tip.
2) Insert it into the vag and move it around a bit.

He said that would "simulate" sex with the animal and that would cause it's heat to end.....

Strange I know, but I swear a vet told us that.

And if you are too skiddish to do that go to petsmart. They have adult dog diapers that you could put on her to keep her from bleeding everywhere.

Btw, to keep the dog from going into heat again and causing this mess, get it fixed... then you don't have to worry about the already overpopulated pet population.

Simple have her spayed! Every year millon's of unwanted pets are put to sleep each year! Even if you don't want to breed her there is no 100% way to keep the male dogs away, they'll tear down fences to get a ***** in heat!

They actually sell dog sanitary napkins. at petstores. they even have designer ones, at the higlher end pet stores. the obvious solution is to get your dogs spayed. she'll lose a lot of behavior problems associated with her maternal instinct, and she'll also no longer run the risk of several kinds of cancer.

They make doggie hot pants for about $10 or less you can get them at PetsMart or Petco and you just put minni pads in to them so it catches the mess and you do not have to wash them all the time.

Just see that it feels comfortable and has a lot of rest. sometimes the pain it has makes it to rub onto things around. Try restricting its movements to a limited area on these days

It's time to take her in and get her fixed. That will solve your problem. Breeders have a whole system of containing their dogs. But unless you're a breeder, you should get her fixed.
