I am doing the same thing right now in planning. The only guests who will be getting favors will be the children. they are getting bubbles, stickers and candy in bags. I ordered them all from Oriental Trading Company and save a lot of money. Check out their site to find more cute things. www.orientaltrading.com.

You can also find nice, affordable things to use in your own wedding!

You don't need anything fancy. People don't usually keep wedding favors very long anyway. You could get some tiny tubes of bubbles for them to blow as you leave. The kids would love that. Also, some Hershey's Kisses tied up in some tulle would do. There's also a way to take two Hershey's Kisses, a straw, saran wrap and some green floral tape and make it look like a flower. They're pretty cute. Don't stress over this--the favors are not a very big deal.

I don't think you need to have a take away for your guests. It's something that people have started doing, but the take aways are usually pieces of candy some small trinket that people end up throwing away. If you do want to give something away, I would say focus on the kids more than the adults. My cousin did suckers for all the kids, which went over very well. The suckers were in the shape of a heart and had a long stick so sitting in the vase it almost looked like a bouquet of flowers. She had also put little tabs with each child's name on it. Good luck and congratulations!

Michael's and Hobby Lobby have some really cute itsy bubble bottles with doves on the top. The kids and the adults will love them. Use them as you would rice after the reception. You can get a few of the kids to hand them out to the guests, too.

Hope your wedding is lovely. Remember, any mistakes just make it unique and you're still just as married at the end, so ENJOY YOUR DAY. Hugs and good luck!!

With so many kids at the wedding I would go for some kind of food/candy. What time of year is your wedding? Is there a theme? You could take some hershey kisses and wrap them up in some tulle or a little bag. You can make a tag on your computer and attach it to the bag thanking your guests for coming to the wedding.

Or other candy ideas here including:

Fortune cookies (2/pp = $.80 x 100 ppl = $80.00)
Mini Personalized Chocolate bars (3/pp = $.90 x 100 ppl = $90.00)

You could make chocolate covered pretzels and put sprinkles on them in the color scheme of your wedding. Put them in a nice clear cellophane bag, tie a ribbon in the color of your wedding and there you go! A nice touch would be to put a "thank you" tag on the bag.

Or, if you want something else:

$0.99 favors here:

I was just at a wedding where the centerpieces doubled as favors - two birds with one stone. They had four or five different types of herbs (basil, mint, oregano, etc) in mini teracotta pots (though you could use anything). They were arranged on I think some boxes covered by pieces of fabric, and each pot had a tag with the bride and groom's name and the date, making it obvious that they were to be taken home.

It's good to have something for kids to keep entertained with at the wedding too, but growing a plant can be special for children too. You could say something at the reception about each child choosing their favorite one to take home and plant.

(Plus, if you do it far enough in advance, you can grow them yourself and re-pot them, further cutting down on your costs.)

For the kids- just a can of play dough or some type of **** in a can... they have soo many these days (just make a nice label for them)... or a coloring book ... Look around for sales and things you can buy in bulk. Oriental trading is great... they have a website.
I found my wedding favors for the adults off of ebay- I paid a $1.05 per piece for two candle pairs wrapped up nicely in a bag. They were like $3.00 anywhere else. And lots of dealer will work with you if you need an odd number of them.

I forgot the cheapest and easy one of them all... Take candy bars from like a BJs or Sam Club where you can buy them in bulk and make new wrapper for them.... just have them copied at staples or office max and then retape them. I mean who doesn't love a candy bar!!

I have an idea for the kids. At my nephew's wedding, each kid got a big ziploc bag with a few coloring pages, some crayons, some treats and a little stuffed bear . My son loved it at the time, and now that he's a teen, he still has the bear! They gave chocolate covered spoons, wrapped in plastic, for the grownups.

You could always get that net looking fabric I can't think of what its called right now but anyways and put dinner mints or some other sort of candy in them! Or you could have little candle things on the tables. Like a voltive candle with sand or those colorful rocks or beads or something! Get creative and have fun! Congrats!

What do you think happens to those favors people spend so much money on? Most end up in the trash before they ever get home. Others feel guilty about tossing them so they wait til they have a layer of dust on them before they're pitched. Unless it's something that can be eaten or used immediately, don't waste your money. Save it & throw a really nice housewarming party. :)
