When I die I won't be able to encourage my wife to do anything.

But I hope that if I were to die before my wife that she would not feel that her life was also at an end and that, after a suitable respectful period of grief, if she met somebody who she felt was right for her, that she didn't feel prevented from seeing him or marrying him.

YES. because if u love someone, u want the BEST for her. even if it is something, selfishly, that will bother u, in the end, True Love means needing and wanting the best for that person. therefore, when u die, do u want her to be sad, and lonely? or do u want her to try and be a Positive, Healthy, Happy functioning person in society? i would encourage my husband to always seek what is Good, Right, and Healthy. that means sticking w/ ME until something goes wrong...like death. or working hard to respect me, and i have to do the same..... if a problem arises and we split, we split. i should only hope that death is the only way my husband would consider being w/ another woman.

I would neither encourage nor discourage her to remarry. She is alone and a free agent. I would wish only for her happiness.

I would encourage my husband to remarry. Why not? There's no point in him being alone.
