My boyfriend and I have been living together for the past three months. He has paid one month of rent ($130), cuz he didnt have a job before then. The job he has now is an under-the-table job that is off and on. He hasnt worked about 2 1/2 weeks. I remid him every so often that rent will be do, our phone/internet bill and electricity at the end of the month and he keeps getting angry with me when I bring it up.
He won't get a tax paying job cuz some girl is trying to pin him for child support for a child that he doesn't think is his at all and because he owes the state the money.
I dont know if I should tell him to get a REAL, STEADY job or just let him do his thing and hope he makes the bills when it comes time....?

This man had better be really effin' amazing in the sack, because that's about the only thing he seems to be good for in your life.

He is mooching off you, plain and simple. If he had the skills to pay the bills, he would be able to find a job paying well enough that he could cope with the wage-garnishing and still pull his weight in your household, or he'd be able to hire a decent lawyer and insist on a paternity test to challenge the child support judgement.

You have every right to put your foot down and demand that you have a partner that does his share. That, or you can stick him in a little French Maid outfit and tell him that if he can't be arsed to do his share of breadwinning, he can stay home and clean house while YOU go earn the money to keep y'all sheltered and fed.

First of all, there is no excuse for your bf to not have a job when you're living together. You both have to do your part and share to make ends meet, not just have only you working and him working at odd jobs or whatever. If he knows that child may not be his he is entitled to get a paternity test before child support may even be able to collect anything. So instead of just assuming things are going to go wrong, maybe you should encourage him that it doesn't hurt to try and maybe it'll be better for the both of you emotionally and financially..

Unless you are highly unattractive or very over weight and he's the only guy who'll be with you, I'd say leave his *** and find someone who's not evading child support. Not his baby, take a paternity test or go on Jerry. Regardless you are dating a loser him getting a job is only going to make him a loser with a job. You should spend less time on Yahoo Answers and more time on Yahoo Personals. Good luck!!

do you seriously want to be with a guy who won't support his child? if the child isn't his, a simple dna will clear him of paying for it. that is just an excuse to keep from working. seems like someone has some growing up to do before they consider entering a serious relationship. why would you even consider moving in with a person who doesnt have a job?

Yeah, LOSER! I'll say it again, in case you didn't understand..HE's A LOSER! Tell him to grow up and take care of his business. Get a real job and split the living expenses. Go to court. have a test done. If he's the father (poor kid) tell him to support him. Either way, take care of your business. If he can't or won't do that, then you need to move on, little dogie. good luck with that!

It is obvious here that this guy is completely irresponsible. Time for you to get someone who cares and this dude isn't it because he doesn't care!
