Halti is a copy of Gentle Leader...GLs work better, fit better..

Look at the thread from last night's Q& A> I got my Gentle Leader yesterday, and it is incredible! My Pittie wasn't too thrilled at first, but he calmed down and I actually *enjoyed* our daiuly walk! I'm even thinking about going for two or three walks a day now! It is great!<<

Here is the thread, so you can see all of the answers> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060913004409AAZi9Vx <<

I have used them and would heartily recommend..

Yes I had 2 collie rottie crosses and had them trained to heel in just a few short weeks with haltis!! They can hurt the dogs neck if you jerk or pull on it too hard, so be gental when walking. I have used the different kinds and prefer Halti's. If the dog will allow you put the halti on and keep it on, then it's a good way to train those huge breeds! Good luck!

I use the Gentle Leader (head halter) on both of my dogs and it works great. I have tried other devices and none of them worked. I was not ever able to walk my Pit Bull until I used the Gentle Leader, he was way too strong. I used it as a training aide with my 110 lb Lab and now he walks great even without it. I have a bad knee and have to use at least one crutch and if I am using the Leader I can do it no problem. Its a great training aide you have more control. Its the same concept as a halter on a horse, most horses you could not walk with a neck collar.

Oh ya I have several of them, but the problem is that a Halti is a "passive" restraint needing no imput from the handler/trainer. So even tho' the dog is behaving, it isn't learning.

Yes I have used them and they work.
They are easy to use and good for people who are opposed to the prong type or choke type collars.
They are foolproof. Once you get it on you do not have to pull only hold still and let the dog pull. It's head will turn and they can only follow their heads.
They are a good place to start with a puller if you do not like the prong collars. I prefer the prong type but only as a training aid not to be used all the time and only when training .
