Amazing is the sense that tells that Abraham (pbuh) was not Muslim for chronological reasons, and tells that he was a Jew despite the same chronological reasons!

All prophets from Adam to Muhammad (pbut) believe in one God and were sent by the same God with the same message, same religion, and for the same reason. There is no clash between religions, and no clash between prophets, the clash is between the followers who misinterpreted the same message that was delivered by different messengers on different occasions.

And for your information people who say that Allah is not the same God that Jewish and Christians believe in, ALLAH is the ARABIC NAME for the SAME GOD. Arab Muslims, Arab Christians, and Arab Jewish, they all call their God ALLAH, that's why you find a lot of Arab Christians with the name ABDULLAH which means ALLAH WORSHIPER. In addition, prophet Muhammad's father name, who were born before Islam when Arabs were either Christians or pagans, is ABDULLAH.

While it is true that the Torah and the Gospels were not written down until AFTER Abraham was dead, that does not necessarily require us top conclude that Abraham was entirely ignorant of God's Word as recorded in both the Torah and the Gospels.

The Muslim faith claims he was a Muslim, which history and archeology can disprove by looking at the kinds of people that lived around his time and his area.

The Jewish and the Christian faith both believe he was a Jew because not only is it written in their scriptures, but even those who do not believe in the scriptures of the Gospel or the Torah can agree that Abraham was a Jew because most biblical archeologists and scholars can prove the religions of people of his time.

In my opinion, since he was the father of what would become 3 similar, yet distinctly different religions, he was probably among the last to worship God the Father in the manner in which Adam did. Personally, I believe that all the prophets who worship(ed) only the one true God, built upon each other, as God revealed unto them more and more of His eternal plan and what was necessary for the people they lead to know about Him. After all God reveals line upon line, precept upon precept as the person grows in faith and knowledge. He does not reveal all, all at once, to His prophets.
So what religion was Abraham, he was a member of the one true religion. He was monotheistic in a world of polytheism. He worshiped God, our Heavenly Father. Back then there were many religions who worshiped many different gods. But only one religion who worshipped God - the true creator of all.

Hanifa. He was a hanif. He followed the moral principal "There is no GOD but GOD". His sons were also hanifs. They did not indulge in idol worship nor the worship of any but GOD. The same for enoch(pbuh), noah(pbuh), and all other prophets before moses(pbuh).

Then after that, was the judaism religion. Taught by moses(pbuh) where men differed. Jews were the children of israel(pbuh) who were lead out of egypt and the ones who decended after them. But the funny thing is, the judaic symbol is the star of David(pbuh) and he did not come till about 500-600 years after moses(pbuh).

So abraham(pbuh) was not a jew in truth, but he was a hanif. How could he be the first jew if he was a prphet and noah(pbuh) and enoch(pbuh) came before him? And they weren't jews. They had the same religion as abraham(pbuh). Or to better put it, abraham(pbuh) had the same religion as them. Hanifa. Now the question is, "What is a hanif?".

Judaism was Abraham's religion. Read the New Testament books of Matthew, Mark Luke, John, Hebrews and Acts and the Old Testament book of Issiah and you will see that Jesus was/is the messiah promised to Jews way back in the Hebrew Bible.

My dear soul...

The Qu'ran wasn't written until between 600-700 AD. This was long after Abraham...long after Jesus Christ too.

Yes, Abraham was the first Jew...and he served the living God.

Allah, for which your Qu'ran was written was a little obscure moon god, until your prophet Muhammad decided to write the Qu'ran.

The living God created the Universe...Heavens...everything within it.

God / Jesus loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you as He did with Abraham. Won't you open your heart and read His word?

If you will accept Jesus into your heart, repent of your sins...your salvation in Heaven will be sealed. Jesus is calling...will you answer?

I pray you will find the grace of the living God and His Son Jesus.

No name...just worshipped the one true God.

He would become Father Abraham to all three of the main religions.... Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, through the sons Ishmael and Isaac.
