Colds are nasty anytime, fever or no. Keep your hands clean and away from your face. No sharing food or drinks. If you must tend to the person with the cold, Lysol is a wonderful product to kill of germs. Good luck and stay healthy.

You can get infected by cold viruses by either of these methods.
Touching your skin or environmental surfaces, such as telephones and stair rails, that have cold germs on them and then touching your eyes or nose
Inhaling drops of mucus full of cold germs from the air

you can catch a cold from somebody, fever or no, if you touch anything they have touched and then touch your face. If they are careful about washing, and you are careful about washing (hands), then you won't catch anything from them.
