I'd like to teach my baby girl a few useful tricks, and this one is specifically to get her used to having her nails trimmed while she lays quietly on her back. Thank you for any assistance you can provice!

The most useful thing you can teach your Baby Grey right now is to get her used to is being toweled.
While you Can teach her to hold up a foot for trimming, it will take you a while. In the meantime, Baby Grey is going to need a pedicure.
Towel training can be accomplished with any bird age, if you know how and it is useful for the Vet, for when she gets out of the shower,or you if your bird is in distress, or if you have an emergency and need to move your bird quickly.

Choose a towel in a neutral color, with no pattern. White, grey, yellow, just somethng that isn't jarring and make sure you won't want to use it elsewhere...she'll be chewing on it.
Start by playing "Peek-ABoo" with her. Have the towel around when you play with her. Get on the floor with both of you on it. Mess with it. Play with it in front of her. Gentler her down with it. Get her used to it.
I don't know how old Baby Grey is, but if she has begun taking showers, they are easily wrapped in a warm towel when they are soaking wet. Wrap her up loosely and hold her while speaking to her softly. Don't hold too hard. She needs some breathing space.
Do this often enough and you will pretty much be able to towel her any time you want.
A lot of times I get an arguement from one of my Greys about getting out of the towel because he is so comfortable.
With this accomplished you need to move on to Positive Reinforcement Training.
Since I do not know you or your bird, I can't venture to imaginae your situation or how willing you are to work with her daily.
I personally believe in having grooming done Professionally. Birds simply don't like it, and I prefer to pay to have a Pro do the work as he is actually being paid to be the "Bad Guy".
Since she is still a baby, the way to get her used to being "Topsy-Turvy" (that's what it's called in my house...) is to hold her up to your chest, support her back while she is in a step up position on your hand while you bend over at the waist. Start with only a few seconds and work your way up. She is still at your chest and she is still being supported by your hand at her back, but she now has the sensation of being upside down on her back. It worked quite welll for my "former" Baby Grey. She now will go topsy turvey, and does flips on a rope on cue.
So it can be done. Start there and then begin research on Positive reinforcement training.
Master this and you will be able to teach her nearly anything you want! I have posted many websites on PRT in many of my past postings on training questions. If you care to, you can look those up.
Good Luck and congratulations on your Baby Grey!
Good Luck.

All congo african gray parrots have pink tails, even females. seems such as you have a sprint lady, congratulations! a pair tricks to renounce or slow the egg laying till now it turns right into a difficulty.. do no longer do away with the egg till she has stopped paying interest to it. it would desire to soak up to twenty days or so yet will shop her from laying extra in maximum situations. shop a particular eye on how a lot "sunlight hours" your chicken is getting. attempt to make constructive she has extra night hours than day hours. this will require darkening the room she's in around 7pm and making constructive it remains darkish till 7 or 8am day after at present. generally birds will initiate breeding rituals in spring by using fact the days get longer and nights get shorter yet considering we shop them interior we tend to coach on lighting fixtures furnishings whilst it of course gets darkish so as that they've a lot longer days than they might contained in the wild. additionally be constructive to maintain her properly fed with an outstanding variety of culmination and vegetables as she's laying eggs because it extremely is extremely stressful for greys and maximum birds generally. shop her from any stressful situations to boot. desire this enables! :)

lol good luck and let me know if you figure it out. I would say just working with her on it. Eventually cupping her in your hand, until she gets comfortable with it. I would imagine they'll need a lot of trust for that one.
