well my sister is getting married and im her maid of honor...so when i told our girl friends that she was getting married they all kinda just asked if they were gonna get to be in the wedding...i guess it just depends on how close you are with your girls and how open and honest your relationship is with them. Cuz they will tell you exactly what they are thinking and you should do the same.

I was asked to be in a wedding and I politely declined. I wasn't comfortable with it and at the time, I didn't know the bride very well.

Signs that a friend isn't interested in being in a wedding? She doesn't ask you about the plans and how they are going. She doesn't offer to help in any way. She doesn't mention dress shopping or anything wedding related. Those are all good signs.

I was never NOT asked to be in a wedding I wanted to be in. I really don't enjoy being a bridesmaid. That is why I am trying to be very kind and considerate of my bridesmaids! The only time I liked it was for my sister's wedding.

my best friend from growing up was my maid of honor -- because thats how we wanted it -- and thats how i wanted -- never mind how rude she was to my other bridesmaids, and was never there for me during the process. She just got married a few months ago -- i wasn't even asked to be a bridesmaid. I felt so crushed -- but thats life i guess

I was a little annoyed once that a girl I was good friend with didn't have me in the wedding but had another girl I HATE in the wedding and I though we were both pretty equal of friends with her...
I ended up emailing something awkward about it- like don't worry about not having me in the wedding...... I understand. So I think she felt Little weird about it.... but then she comment on the if that the other girl would have cried if she wasn't in the wedding because she has no other friends.

It's funny because now I am marrying my friend's best friend from High School, and I choose her NOT to be in my wedding because I wasn't in her's.... plus I already have 6 bridemaids and I was in all their weddings. We are letting her do a speech though at the church.

No not really. But I suppose if you were put into that position, there's no other way but just asking. Obviously, the post of bridesmaid is a rather coveted one so it really depends on the closeness of the girl to the bride-to-be.

I have never ever wanted to be a bridesmaid and would not be obsessing if I weren't asked.

First question No.
Second question I was asked to be the maid of honor in a wedding. I didn't even realize that we were friends.
Third they ask you about all of the little details if they want to be involved or if they don't they leave the room when the subject is brought up.

No, thank God! My friends all know that the expense of being in their weddings is too much of a burden for me so I do readings at their weddings instead or they have my daughter as their flower girl.

I'm not to sure why you are asking us this. If you are getting married and want the lady/girl to be in your wedding just ask. If she says yes then great and if not then find another. You seem to be afraid of rejection. Not to sure why.
