Go into prayer. I've learned that God speaks quietly. He's not going to fight for our attention. Take time out daily to be quiet and pray and you will hear His voice.

Also, the Holy Spirit speaks to us through our conscience and other people. Have you ever had someone say something profound to you in the midst of a crisis? That's the Holy Spirit speaking and/or reinforcing His word.

I journal, then read my scriptures. If I still have a busy mind then I may journal some more. Sometimes my journal entries are just what I did today, or what I need to do tomorrow, but it's enough to let me empty my mind of the business of the day and pray. When I journal there's no tv, music, or other distracting noise. I live alone so there's no chance of people disturbing me, and I usually do this at night right before going to sleep so there's not a lot of outside noise either. Although I've tried this in the early mornings too.

From my point of view, I think you could do that by staying away from the things that you know are pretty un Godly, and always try to contact him every now and then, praying and doing researches on the bible. In this case you might become holy and then you would be on the same page with him so that you can hear and understand what he is saying to you.

Go somewhere quiet, and peaceful.
Start by reading some bible passages, and daily devotionals. Then pray. Let God know everything. Let God know how grateful you are for everything.

If you have a difficult time with keeping you mind on track you can start a 'prayer diary', and start writing down your thoughts, prayers and favourite bible verses. Its a good way to empty your mind and clear your thoughts. It also keeps your mind on track and in focus on God.

You must sit in silence, stop talking, stoping thinking, feel very relaxed and only think of anything that represent God to you and at same time listening to youself, any sound that may come up from within you, usually a humming sound at first. Do it every night b4 bed time.

I read the Psalms, and just have a quiet time. Try to get rid of all distractions, and think about what the word is saying. Also if you aren't read, worship and praise music can bring you into a listening place.

You don't want to open it up too much or the other voices in your head will start complaining that it sounds like an echo chamber in your head. Just have God take a number and wait his turn.

Pray that God quiet you so that you may hear him.

You may have to sit still on a daily basis, over an extended period of time, in order to quiet worldly clamors (that is, it may takes months of practice). Ask God to increase your faith in him, and decrease your faith in the things of the world.

i dont know why these people are being so rude. but to answer your question. you need to try your best to repent from your sins, you need to pray and read the bible daily and you need to surrender everything in your life to God. It takes time, but if you pray to him in the spirit (with all your heart) then he will start opening up your eyes and ears. Also, ask him daily to help you hear his voice. Come to him first with everything!!
