Actually the US Army Medical Corp recommends short naps of 20-40 minutes.

College is hard and takes a lot of time so your sleep schedule usually suffers. Your body can't store up sleep, but you can develop a sleep deficit and that carries over until you make it up.

You still need a goodnight's sleep, but quick naps will help your performance and make up for any sleep deficit you have, they will also make it easier to stay awake in some of those boring classes.

If you have a plan for success, and it is working then stick with it. If the ONLY sleep you are getting is in your naps then you should sleep more at night, but a few short naps during the day are a good idea to keep you sharp and mentally focused.

Recent discoveries show that during sleep the mind goes over the day and decides which ones to transfer into long-term memory. So it is best to study before you go to sleep, you have a better chance of retaining it.

It has been proven in several studies in England that Fish Oil Omega 3 helps with a student's memory. It is one of the few supplements that actually have a scientific study behind it. You can get it in most supermarkets or drug stores so I recommend you try it.

Good luck in college, and nap as much as you need to keep you sharp. Study before you go to sleep, even before you take a nap (just go over your notes quickly), this will improve your retention and Omega 3 Fish Oil has been proven to help as well.

I could nap on command. Even 2-3hr naps. You're probably just stressed from starting college so resting up when you can might be a good thing. When you get to be my age and still feel tired you might want to get some blood drawn. You could be anemic which I think I am.

As long you're still sleep at night, it's fine. Are you really sleepy during the day? If so, then you may want to think about skipping the naps to consolidate your sleep.
