do you sometimes wish the South would have won?

The Civil war gets fought here in Richmond on a daily basis. It's a way of life for many. I grew up in the middle of some of the biggest & bloodiest battlefields, so I'm pretty well steeped in the history. It wasn't possible for the South to win; not logistically, not econimically, not realistically. JW Boothe didn't do the South any favors when he assasinated President Lincoln because in doing so he lost us a compassionate man who would have seen the South rebuilt without the carpetbaggers who gutted us after the War. Do I sometimes wish the South had won - yes. I do. Would I go back to time before the War? no. My family has always been poor & we wouldn't have lived in a plantation or been waited on hand & foot by slaves. My grandfather was farmed out to work on other peoples' land as soon as he was old enough to walk steady on his own - & that was in the 1920's! I could go on & on here but I won't. Thanks for asking such a good question - I enjoyed thinking about it!!

Enough people have criticized your misspelling of Civil so I won't. I enjoy Civil War history, especially the Battle of Gettysburg. The South was incapable of winning the war as they were agrarian and didn't have the industry to drive the war machine. Today, with the movement of a lot of production and economy to the South one might think that, in the end, the South did win.

Civil no cival! If you love reading about it so much you'd think you would be able to spell it!

So you would prefer if the south won and slavery was still in effect? Interesting, is it time for your KKK meeting yet?

Assuming you mean the US Civil War, it's one of my favorite historical periods and I love to study it.
