Not everyone who claims to be a Christian follows what the Bible tells us. So, we shouldn't be judged based on what some people do. Many people say they belong to a certain religion because it's the traditional religion in their family. It doesn't mean they actually practice what they say they believe.
Sure, there have been a lot of "Christians" doing really bad things, but are these people really Christians, I mean, followers of Christ who live by what the Bible says?
In any group of people, there are those who simply label themselves and those who really believe and practice what they say they are.

Yes, I do believe there can be followers of Jesus Christ who are not faithful to the scriptures. It doesn't mean they are not saved, because that is only for God to judge who is and who is not. You can't fall from grace, according to John 10: 27-29. Therefore, a believer in Jesus Christ can sin and do something really bad, but God will forgive them if they ask. This is why we are to study the word daily, it is the sword of our faith.

And yes, just because we grew up in a family who were believers in Jesus Christ, it doesn't make us one as well. Each of us must make that decision ourselves.

I hope this answer helps you somewhat. Take care.

The Bible, like the Koran, is subject to widely varying interpretations. It is true that people define themselves not by what they claim to believe but often by what they do. Also keep in mind a person can think he's "on the path" but he's been deceived - remember that many people become convinced that the way to God and paradise is to strap on explosives and go kill a bunch of innocents. Do you really think those guys get to "heaven" or whatever you personally call it? I don't.

Why would I consider those people? People can do what they want. One can be a Christian and sin. If they decide to steal and they still believe in Christ, does that not make them a Christian any longer? It is between them and the Higher Being and it should be of no one else's concern.

So very true. As a Christain I know exactly what you are talking about. Belonging to a "religion" because your grandfather did is wrong. That is how "religion" causes bondage and hatred. Practice doing what Jesus is doing and see what happens.

You have to take responsiblity for your actions. Each group has to do so as well. If you don't agree with what your fellow Christians say or do then I would expect to hear it loud and clear but far too often all there is is silence.

I basically judge the church for the barbaric things its authorities have done. It's true that not all Christians are alike, but if your authorities do something wrong, and you don't even complain, you become an accomplice, and you're to blame almost as much as they are.

I think all people should take your words to heart. I have seen many others label pagans as satanists and coming up with all sorts of wild ideas about what we are and what we do.

dont post "when forming your opinions, do you consider this?"
it doesnt tell much about what the question really is. Paraphrase like When forming opions about Christians, do you consider the following" just that one word changes everything
