We honor our Priests, Nuns, Bishops and the Pope.

They all have their vocation, just like I do as a married Catholic Man.

We don't believe that anyone is "Closer" to God than anyone else, because it is not for us to judge. The office of the Pope is not like half way up the ladder to heaven or anything like that.

There have been some bad Popes through the ages, Popes are human just like the rest of us.

The Pope is the head of the Catholic church...just like Bush is hear of the USA. This doesn't mean that the Pope is closer to God; he's just another human being who will burn in HELL if he misleads the people.

No, Catholics do not believe that the Pope is closer to God than anyone else on Earth.

However the Pope is our world wide pastor and holds the same office as Simon Peter.

Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:17-19)

The Catholic Church believes the Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the "rock" of his Church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock.

Pope Benedict XVI is the direct successor of Simon Peter.

With love in Christ.

No the Pope is not considered 'closer to God'. He is a servant of God and the people of the Church. He is our earthly and visible leader, that guarantees no special place. As a matter of fact he too must be careful not to get proud or puffed up.The sin of pride is a great deceiver when one is in a high position.

The Catholic church feels that the Pope has a direct connection to God and that he is infallible. Therefore any decision he makes is law. If he says the moon is made of green cheese then that becomes law.

Once upon a time in the old days God would have 1 may priest. once a year he would come in the temple and burn the sacrifices that the people would bring him to ask forgiveness for our bad self. And at this time this priest was the only allowed in the temple and to intercedes between God for you
When jesus came and the temple rip in half and he said that he would leave a counselor for us after he left. That meant that we would not need somebody to go in front of God for us because we're all equal because we're all sinners. All we have to do is go on our knees and this counselor-the Holy spirit would guide us in prayer,In life and remain with us untill the rapture..Basically i would have to go with answer B.

Catholics DO NOT follow the Bible. They believe that "traditions of the church" are of equal importance and, as such, they violate scripture.
