You have to choose between the two. Most religions would have you being miserable so that you can be happy in some distant, theoretical afterlife.

And the more things you deny yourself, the better they like it.

Actually, that seems to be the best choice. Interestingly, Christians make up about 75% of the US population and 75% of the US prison population. No big surprise there.

Atheists, on the other hand, make up about 10% of the US population... but they only make up 0.2% of the US prison population. Now, isn't THAT a surprise? That means that atheists are FIFTY (50) times LESS LIKELY to be incarcerated than Christians. Pretty strange, huh, for a group that has no god-given guiding moral principals?

I can think of only two possibilities that might reasonably be said to account for this disparity:

1. Atheists are of a higher ethical and moral caliber than Christians, and thus are less prone to do the same kinds of nasty things that land so many Christians in the slammer; OR,

2. Atheists are, overall, a lot smarter than Christians and thus, they are less likely to get caught in the course of their transgressions.

It's GOT to be one or the other... take your pick.

Not everyone believes in the same god, or any god at all. Even the Bible suggests that Yahweh is only the god of the descendants of Adam. The other people around then, those folks from the land of Nod, aren't in the same category.

What we all have in common is that we have to die someday, and Jimi Hendrix said it best: "I'm the one who's got to die when it's my time to die, so let me live my life the way I want to."

Who is to say what is wrong or what is right? Morality is subjective. One mans sin may be another mans redemption and vice versa. Which God are you referring to when you ask this? My guess would be the Christian god, no? It used to be that it was acceptable and "gods work" to crucify S american indians in order to bring them the light and love of God. We now for the most part agree that this is wrong. Nowdays there are those that feel that doing God's work involves the slaughter of Muslims. I guess what im saying is,...Do what thou will but harm no one, and if there is a God i think that might be enough. When your brain tells you, this is wrong... dont do it.

Psalm 40:8 mentions it should be a delight to do what God asks.
Its not a question of a heavy burden, but out of love we are happy, willing to accept the few things he asks.
To do what he asks because of fear of a bad judgement is not what one would call love.

Of course it's wrong to live your life without referring to Allah's rules which He has put ONLY for the right of the Mankind as He know very well what will make us happy and live in peace, justice, and mercy.

We just think that we are able to put the rules ourselves but this's totally wrong, NO ONE CAN BE MORE AWARE OF SOMETHING THAN ITS CREATOR, isn't it?

No, it's not. Too often, it's easy for us to use God's grace as an excuse for sinning. We know He will forgive us. But it's so much better to make an effort not to be sinful, just because we love our Lord, and He will bless us for our obedience... He will also bless others through us when we really follow Him.

Jesus said that when we obey His words, we remain in His love. John 15:9-13 is an awesome passage. I love it!
