get a back bone and ask him anyway! What do you have to offer someone if you are to chicken to even talk with them?? All he can do is say no! Hearing no isn't going to kill you, you will have to hear no many times in your life so you may as well get used to it now! You want to be grown up, well having a backbone is part of growing up!!! You may find out he does like you!!

Use the following:
Eye contact
Sit next to him often
Talk to him- general school stuff, ect.
If he replies by doing much the same thing, yo will know. Then you can ask him to go out with you, or whatever.
The most important thing, whatever, people tell you, take it slow- don't go in to hard to quiockly. Be patient, not to hasty as this could be very risky.
