For my birthday, my boyfriend wanted to help me with some remodling I've been working on. He took me to Home Depot , bought the supplies, then dropped them off in my back yard and said he had to go do homework. He started giving me directions on how to complete the project, by myself. Mind you, this guy is a construction worker and builds homes for a living. I told him I needed help with the project which is not a one person job. He said he couldn't help me and left me to carry all the supplies (very heavy)inside and upstairs. After I started crying , he said he'd come back the next day and help. I told him not to bother and havent see him since.

Sounds like you have a real Prince on your hands there. He's no gentleman, that's for sure.
Perhaps you need to trade up & find some1 more considerate?

Miscommunication!
What did he SAY he wanted to do for your birthday?
What did you THINK that meant?

What you said is that he wanted to help you, and he DID!. He took you to HD, and bought materials, and brought them to your place and unloaded them. THAT's help, and that may be ALL he intended to do, or all that he had time for.

YOU, on the other hand, THOUGHT he meant more than that, because you Wanted more than that, so YOU got your feelings hurt.

Yes, he should have helped you carry the stuff upstairs, but the point is, see how ASSUMPTIONS can cause pain?

This is NOT his fault, but yours, for nor getting clarification.

It's YOUR apology to make, accepting the fact that he was a jerk to leave you like that.

He's about a 6. You told him not to come back. Get someone else to help you. You still have the supplies.

8 or 9 at least. Why don't you call him and ask him what the hell is going on? That sounds kind of suspicious.

Kinda messed up, but don't always depend on a man to help you do stuff. Yeah he is rated a 8.5, but do it yourself or ask some other friends to help you out......

I think he finally got the hint that YOU'RE the biggest buthead. Let's recap...
*He bought you the supplies.
*He told you how to do the project.
*He does this for a living (why would he want to spend his free time doing it).
*He had to do homework.
*You had to take your free supplies upstairs.
*You cried and told him not to bother.
*Now your're mad because he didn't bother.

You're spoiled (and now hopefully single) - get over yourself.

What a horrible, horrible man. I rate him a million on the loser scale. Count yourself lucky that you are no longer with him, and are free to find someone who will treat you better.

Was he under the impression that you had carpenter skills? It was nice that he bought the stuff. But how did he expect you to get it done? He sounds totally clueless.
