Afghanistan harbored the most notorious terrorist in history, who was responsible for an unprovoked attack on civilians that killed nearly 3,000 people, including several Canadians. As a long-time friend and trading partner of the US, the Canadian government pledged troops to rid Afghanistan of the terrorist and those who harbored the terrorist, a perfectly reasonable response in my opinion.

In addition, Middle Eastern terrorists have been captured in Canada, and they were planning various attacks on civilians. The terrorists will not go away if Canada closes its eyes to them. In fact, that will make the situation worse, as the terrorists will use Canada as a safe haven to carry out their attacks, some of which will almost certainly kill and maim Canadians.

Canadian troops in Afghanistan, supporting a global effort to root out the world's worst terrorist, sounds like an appropriate use of the country's armed forces.

Not anymore, Bush has backed off in supporting them because he had had to invade another country that had nothing to do with terrorism. He left Canadians holding the bag when e=we should have concentrated on Afghanistan and Pakistan in searching for Bib Laden and the terrorist training camps. Iran did not commit a single aggressive act against the US, but America hase140,000 weary troops there and has spent over 300 billion dollars and have instigated a civil war. If I were Canadian, I would pack it in and tell Bush and his cohorts to find another sucker.

Yes. The radical islamofascists have no problem visualizing bringing their car bombs and suicide belts to a pizza parlor near you. They are going to fight you eventually. It is better to fight them over in Afghanistan.

It was not the Falun Gong that plotted to blow up parliament and behead the PM.

The war on Terrorism is not the US against the terrorists. The terrorists have no remorse for anyone they kill. It is a war of all nations to bring down terrorists.
