I turn 40 this month and have long hair. Is it still considered sexy, or do you give the impression your clinging desperately to your youth?

My wife will be 40 next year and I love her long hair! When she takes the time to put it in hot rollers and curl her hair, WOW she is hot! I love her long hair, another favorite is when it is damp from the shower or bath ! ! ! Turns me on!

SO in my opinion Long Hair YES!

I'm 41 and my hair hangs about 5" below my shoulders. My friends and family like my hair better this length.

It depends on the condition and style of your hair AND the shape of your face. Now I do think thin hair haning down to the waist of a 40 year old woman looks like "clinging to the youth." Be sure the ends are well trimmed and conditioned often. If you have a lot of gray, you might want it to be shoulder length instead.

Do consider your body shape as well. IMO, really long hair on a heavy women is not sexy no matter what the age.

I say midway down the back is just right. But if it is turning gray, then die it an all over color. My grandma is in her mid 50's and her hair is practically to her butt. It is all a silverish gray color. She won't die it because she gets many compliments, but I personally think she would look much younger if it was an all over dark brown. You are not to old at all. I think long hair is femenine no matter what the age. Since when was it a rule for aging women to cut their hair short and look like a man. I think that is completely retarded. I am young but I know that when I get older I will still be holding onto my lovely locks! Keep your hair! Just be sure that you take care of it and make it look healthy by using good products. If it is thinning, then a good shampoo to use would be Nioxin.

It's all just a matter of personal preference. I have short hair and guys like it. And i prefer a man with short hair over a man with long hair because long curly hair tends to make guys look also girly.

45 is the new 35, so there's nothing wrong with long hair when it comes to age. Although, the shape of your face might not compliment the hair. Sometimes the wrinkles (if you have them) become more prevalent with long hair. If you wear it long, make sure you stay trendy. That'll keep people wondering just how old you really are. Have fun!

Absolutely YES. If you can grow it long, it is a sign of youth. White hair is not as forgiving...you will have all of your 70's and 80's (and possible 90's) to sport a short do! Be young while you still can!

My mom-in-law (55) has long hair... and it's gorgeous on her. (People compliment her all the time.) I think if long hair makes you feel like "you," then keep it long!
I'm 31, and I donated my hair to Locks of Love 2 years ago -- so my hair was super short for a while. It was cute, but it wasn't "me." (Plus, hubby likes it long, too!) So don't worry about age, if long hair suites you and makes you feel sexy, then go long!
