There are studies and books written in our colleges and universities which consider these very questions.. such as the ethics of a medical lottery.. is it more ethical to save a life or take it to save more lives with their organs.
.....There's quite a few folks who believe increasingly that the weak, the sick, the elderly (the pre-born), the handicapped and mentally impaired, could and should be lessened, to provide more room and resources for the more fit.. I used to have a couple of links to such discussions or books, have to look for those.. Dean Koontz provided them at the end of one of his books..
