I'm an atheist but i don't push my views on my kids.
they have to study religion here in italy in the public school system (catholic-based of course) and i believe it is for the best.

i wasn't raised an atheist, but was told what to believe and now look at me, so therefore my kids need to be knowledgable to make their own choices as they grow older.

so, definitely they'd go to the church school.

i may not believe in god but i believe my kids should have a safe environment and a decent education.

peace!

You would get an equally unsatisfactory education at both. However, there's less likelihood to be stabbed at the Christian school. This is assuming of course, that the Christian school is not gang-ridden. This is entirely dependent upon the amount of money that goes into funding the school, and the neighborhood that it's in. Otherwise, they would both be gang ridden.

Regardless of how unbalanced and loaded your question is... I would send them to the safe one, the Christian school. And I would explain every day after school, which things were lies and which were the truth, after going over his/her homework.

Btw, I went to a public school that was not gang-ridden. The Catholic school was next door to us, and rode the same bus, etc. There was a much higher percentage of troublemakers at the Catholic school, and this was well known. You don't have to believe that. I know you trust atheists about as far as you can throw them. (Prejudice is a truly wondrous thing) But I just thought I'd point that out.

So, are you insinuating that these gang members aren't Christian? Just curious.

I'd send my child to whatever school offers the best opportunity for him or her to succeed in college. If the violent inner city school has better teachers and a better curriculum then that's where my child would go and vice versa.

Atheist with 4 children...

They are free to make up their own mind when it comes to religion. If they thought the xian school would be better for them, then yes thats where they would go.

Edit to add
Either way I would walk them too and from school everyday. Both the gang members and the christian boys need to keep their perverted hands to themselves.

We don't have children as we said there is no god? I don't follow that at all. What does that mean?

Assuming that the xian school is not dangerous (since you've left out any other description besides xian in a typical xian illogical manner) I would homeschool. I would pick the xian school after that, but would educate the children at home on the truth about religions.

Actually statistics show inner-city schools tend to be more christian not less. So your initial bigotted assumption that "violent inner-city" schools are non-christian is false. But this is typical of the racial bigotry shown by white christian groups such as the Ku-Klux-Klan who try to paint inner city citizens with the non-christian brush when in fact they are anything but.

It's not hypothetical - it's real. I lived in Miami - I had a choice with my children....I MOVED! But before that, I lied with my utility records and drove them 45 minutes to a good school. There are always options other then religious school.

I would go with the public schools. but it is a sad day when you have to choose between your child's physical safety or sending them to a school that teaches things that cant be proven scientifically
