We are travelling in a camper van in Sardinia at the moment and plan to go to Sicily for the winter, we like to free camp as we have dogs does anyone know of anywhere really good?

hope your dogs are useful guard dogs, there are some pretty dangerous wild pigs that roam around the Sardinian countryside -you don't want to end up like that guy in Hannibal

I don't know what "wild camping" is. But I've camped on Sicily many times. I find the south side of the island to be more hospitable. It's more deserted and the beaches are great.

Better to find a farmer who is happy for you to be on his land... nothing ventured ...etc. and you could well end up with new friends. Equally you might get a friendly first response and then a dead-of-night /while you are out during the day invasion or petty theft. Trust your senses, there are some fabulous Sicilians and some a bit questionable.
Good luck and enjoy it - a great island and place to winter.
