I was sitting right next to a friend at this restaurant. We were talking about a few things and she mentioned how she thought she is a bad friend and will have no friends in college. This is simply not true, and I began to tell her what a great friend she is to people. I gave examples, and I told her that her personality would bring her many friends in college. During my speech, she placed her elbow on the table and used her hand to prop her head. She stared with what seemed to be "dreamy" eyes during this part of the convo. At the end, she asked her friend if she heard that somewhat flustered. After that day, she seems a lot more nervous around me and won't talk to me as much. What did I do wrong?

You didn't do anything wrong, maybe she felt something she didn't know was inside of her.....like maybe she likes you, just keep being yourself, but try to talk to her more and be really close, maybe you will see that she is into you.

I'm not certain that you did anything wrong, and no one could be unless they were present. There are however, a couple of clues that you provided. Using your words, "During my speech....", you recognize that you delvered a speeh rather than engage her in a conversation. Next, her "dreamy" eyes were probably a good indication of polite boredom of your speech. Finally, I gather that she was pretty much confirming that the speech bored her when she spoke with her friend. I'm a man and tell you for certain, no woman wants to listen to your speech unless you happen to be a paid speaker. They instead prefer to engage in dialogue. Good luck

Its simple......she didnt mean to come across as 'dreamy' but you perceived it that way and now you look at her 'dreamlily'.....just dont dwell on the they 'how she looked at you bit' and she'll come around. You advised her as a 'friend' now make her feel like one.....she can sense that you thought she showed some interest in you but thats not true and thats why she's nervous around you

You didn't do anything wrong. Maybe she thinks you're interested in her and doesn't know how to act around you?

It's not about what you did wrong. It's about what you did right. She's got a crush on you.
