There ARE differences between humans and other apes. Acknowledging that we come from a common ancestor will not affect the real differences. So, since admitting the real relation won't change your precious differences, why not do it? Many would say that it goes against the Bible, but we really are related. DNA evidence, and the OBVIOUS similarities are ENOUGH to prove that. Christians make apologies for the Bible all the time (like 6 of God's days are longer than 6 of ours) so I think it's actually narcissism that keeps your minds closed to the ideas in the theory of evolution--you are somehow afraid that it diminishes you to actually BE an animal. Am I right?

Yes but 6 of God's days really are different than 6 of our days. Evolution is pure crap...

I'm not sure about the evolution as I am a christian, and prefer to take faith over science. But there is no doubt in the theory of evolution. The evidence is everywhere, just take the time to look at it.

Anyway, I just think its funny how humans think they have the birthright to the planet Earth. What exactly separates us from animals? What makes us superior, the fact that we are "more intelligent" and able to use tools? This gives us the right to take the planet for our own and starve the habitats for every other species?

Maybe the animals are too smart to build things... maybe they realize no good can come out of it... Think about it people, what do you think technology and everything else is gonna bring? World peace? homeostasis? Prolly not, the most likely thing is well starve the planet, eventually killing it, if not ourselves. Lol I know you all are gonna think I'm ridiculous and its ludicrous, but just look at the big picture. Humanity is not just growing, its multiplying... Its gotta end somewhere.

Lets try a new word, "theory". Have you heard it before? What it means in this particular question is that the ape to man "theory" is just that, a "theory", not a fact. Unless of course, you have found the proof scientists have been looking for in order to make this more than a theory? No, didn't think so, if you were that intelligent, you'd know the difference between fact and theory.

Personally, I'm a big believer in evolution, evolution is fact, but unfortunately for you apparently, the ape to man thing is not a fact, its simply an unproven theory. The narcissism you speak of comes into play when stupid people try to pretend theory is fact in order to insult other people.

evolution cannot be proven because it always contradicts itself or new evidence comes along and theories change. Our dna is similar to some apes, I believe as much as 94 or 96%. But it is also something like 76% similar to some fish. and in the 80's for other animals. If you think about it, we were ALL created by one being (God) so it would only be right to ASSUME there will be some similarities.

Darwins theory can not be proven. It is based on hypothosis that have not turned up factual data to support it. If you read Darwins book he actually states that he has no evidence to prove his theory of evolution, but is sure that future archeologist will dig up the supporting evidence. Guess what, they never did. The theory as far as how living things adapt or evolve to the environment can be proven. But fossil evidence showing evolution from one species to the next has not. In fact scientis proved that the presence of man and other larger organism appeared very quickly and recently in the entire perspective of time. It's amazing how much evidence has been discovered that go against these evolutionary principles, but they are still being taught.

Read the book I listed and check it out for yourself.

Well...we can perfectly see you came from an ape...
I don't doubt our DNA is very similar to that in apes, but apparently you missed that our DNA is very similar to that in every mammal and almost equally similar to that in vertebrates... the percentages of differences are very, very small...so, how exactly can that be a proof??
And yes, creationism is not a contradiction to evolucionism...of course certain kind of evolution exist...but come on don't expect me to believe a worm somehow got to be some kind of mouse, and after millions of years it became an ape and after that here we are... don't you think there are a lot of holes between all those stages...where are all those missing species? extinted? if so, why there are no signal they ever existed?...funny story, but hasn't been proved so far...

Evolution is backed by science. The Bible is backed by faith. Next time you watch a basketball game and someone does a slam dunk - tell me there is no comparision between a man and an ape. The similiarity is scary.

My guess is that you're not going to get a lot of conflicting opinion here. You are obviously very intelligent, educated and well-spoken. This is only meant to be a compliment: You seem too evolved and intimidating for most of the answerers here. I bet your question reads like a foreign language to some of the people I've been debating with.

i always wondered why people are bent on proving we came from monkeys. cause that sure is something to be proud of....

seeing as u cant prove existance of a god, nor disprove it, nor is there actual proof of evolution from monkeys nor is there disproof i honestly dont care where we came from. im living in the now, not in the wayyy back then...
