My ring finger size is about a 12 right now. I am about 85 lbs overweight. My other fingers are actually bigger. Will my finger size decrease when I lose weight and how much will it decrease? Thank you! =)

People's ring and shoe sizes do change some with weight loss and gain, but there are a lot of people with 100 extra lbs or 60 extra lbs who have a ring size that's only a size or so more than it would be if the person were at his/her proper weight.

I once knew a couple of women with size 10 and 12 rings. One was a very overweight woman, but the other was average or less. Frame size (and knuckles size) has a lot to do with ring size. I can think of people who have weight similiar to yours and who have size 6 or 7 rings.

I'm going to guess that your ring size could go down to a ten but isn't likely to go down to a 6. But that's just my guess.... I would think if you have size 6 or 7 feet (small frame) you'd be more likely to have the ring size go down than if you have size 8 or larger feet. Again, though, just guessing...

yeah it will decrease.. if you're overweight, your body is carrying extra fluid right now, thus calling edema (swelling)... so when you lose weight of course that is going to be reduced or not at all... so it's hard to say how much your ring size will decrease. Just know that it will.

Good Luck on your Quest in Weight Loss!

Yes, your ring size will decrease and more than likely your shoe size. I don't know by how much. You can have a ring guard inserted in to your ring until your weight stabilizes so you will know what to have it sized down to.

Yes, it will decrease. But everyone is different and no one can really tell you how much. When I was pregnant my fingers got fatter (much like the rest of me). And after I lost the weight, the went back to their normal size.

Hard to say how much. I lost a lot of weight once, and my ring went from an 8 to 6.5

Oh and my shoe size went from a 10 to a 8.5 or 9!

They should. I wear a size 4.5 ring finger, and when I gained some weight the ring size went up. When I lost the weight, my normal ring size returned.

Yep! When I was pregnant I could not wear my ring. Then after the baby, I still had all the weight. Once I finally started to diet ~ 2 years later. I have been able to put the ring back on. Believe it not, the weight comes off in all places of the body

Your whole body gets bigger as you gain weight, as does it get smaller when you lose weight. Depending on how much you lose, will determine the size of your fingers.
