If you are asking what to do with the hole in your wall, I would suggest installing a glass block window.
Call a glass block installer, they will come out and measure, and give you a price.
You might even suggest you can wait until they are doing a job in the neighborhood to maybe hold the cost down, or find an installer who does work on the side.

I will assume the unit is still in the wall due to the manner of your question. A large mirror, tapestry, quilt, picture, a shevling unit, a cork board, chalkboard, message center, or even tier curtins for tempory solutions.
If you have to you can put up a shelf unit with fabric behind it [just staple in place] and display a few items ,if there is enough depth so no one walks by and gets hit in the head with it.
Shutters do well, as does a cut down to size door or headboard both allowing you to create message centers, picture gallery or even a place for childrens' art.

Once again, it's much easier to help people with decorating ideas when we have a picture to go by. Without a picture, I would only suggest getting yourself a beautiful fancy standing screen (try Pier 1 Imports) and place lighting behind from the floor up and a beautiful tropical plant in front. Good Luck! And if you are able to, post the picture please and I'll come back and give more ideas.

If it has been cut into the wall you will have to remove the unit and all trim that may be installed around it and then cut materials to install both inside and outside. Most likely sheetrock on inside and matching siding on the outside . Insulate between the openings before installing the last side. Remember to caulk and seal the seams at least on the outside. If sheet rock on inside, tape and mud the seams and paint to match the wall.

I'm not clear if the a/c is still in the wall or if you have a hole where it used to be. If there's a hole try one of the suggestions above. If it's still in, buy a wall hanging or tapestry to hang in front of it and cover it.
