I have Kodak Easy Share software for loading pictures from my digital camera to my computer and HP Image Zone software for editing and printing on my HP photosmart printer. I would like to get rid of Kodak ES, but I'm not sure if I can load pictures form my Kodak camera to the computer without the Kodak software.

I, too, have Kodak, but I don't use the software. Do you have a newer model printer? It sounds like your printer is just for photos. The newer model printers coming out have ports to insert memory cards from digital cameras, and instructions on how to print photos with explanations on proper settings.

I just insert my camera's memory card into the proper port and my printer/copier/scanner uploads the pix to my computer. Then I have a choice of which pix I want to keep.

I suggest going to the website of your computer's printer and not the Kodak printer, to see what options you have open for uploading and printing pictures. You may not even require new software, it may be in your computer's printers capacity to print out photos.

I did not realize my printer could do this until I read the entire owners manual. My camera's manual neglected to tell me this information. I almost bought a special printer for my pix but a double check of my computer and printer saved me the cost.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

I am sure you can. When your camera is hooked up to your computer it is probably making another drive and all you would have to do is go copy and paste those files to where you wanted them. I bet Windows would pop up a message asking you if you wanted to do that automatically.
