My girlfriend's daughter has bumps that are red in color, no head on them, some have already scabbed over, they don't ooze and they don't itch.

The dr. seems to believe they are a mild case of chicken pox...but nothing on the net speaks of such "mild" symptoms. Anyone have any ideas what they really might be?

Yes, it could be a mild case of chicken pox, especially if she hasn't had the vaccination for them. Some people react differently to them. I would go with what the Dr. says.

doesn't sound like chicken pox to me. Chicken pox look like pimples and even a more mild case will itch like crazy. If she has been around a lot of other children it could be "hand, foot and mouth" you can see it all over the body but also in the mouth, palms of the hand and bottom of the foot or on the butt. It doesn't hurt unless it's in the mouth but it will crust over and go away on it's own, occationally antibiotics are used to stop it if it's bad. I thought my daughter had chicken pox but it was hand, foot and mouth, should go away within a week

my daughter was exposed how many times to chick pox and never got them. well finally my nephews both had them head to toe. she then had six spots. i was not sure if they were chicken pox of not. i assumed they were. later on the dr. ran a blood test. the test showed that she had already had the chicken pox. there is a blood test they can do to check.

some kids do get a very mild case of chicken pox when they are young, which doesnt provide them with enough antibodies to protect them if exposed later on, so they are more likely to get it again and more severely. I was one of those kids, no fun!
