When you start seeing someone is it assumed you are only seeing them.? And if you see other people is it considered cheating? I think in the first month you are just getting to know someone so asking for commitment is a bit much. After that fair enough discuss it. Who agrees or disagrees?

FYI - This isn't about me now as I'm happily in a long term relationship but its about a guy I was dating before my boyf who states I cheated on him with my current boyf but we'd only gone out on a handfull of dates and he's still texing me guilt tripping me 7 months later. I just need to know some opinions on this area
Thank you thank you

the ex has issues and needs to learn how to let go. Now...as for exclusivity...unless it's expressed openly and mutually agreed upon I feel both parties are available to other options. It's also a personal choice not to be "automatically" reciprocated just because the other feels this way. In short: he's wrong, you're right.

There are no relationship rules. It all depends upon the attitudes of the people involved.

If you are just doing fun dating and are expecting exclusivity, you may be disappointed down the road.

If a relationship is growing and it gets to the point where it's feeling like a relationship, you can ask those questions.

If you can't communicate with your partner you will have a very difficult time of it.

It depends.. If you are dating somebody, like going out for a drink or coffee once in a while then no, its not automatically exclusive. But if you were friends first, or knew eachother already for a while and decided to be together, then that is something you have to discuss before you start the relationship.

Yeah, commitment too soon is obnoxious. I asked the guy I'm seeing now when we first kissed if we could not make it official yet. He was cool with it. I didn't want to rush things. Now it's 7 months later....
we've been dating this whole time-but we never sat down and made it official.
So, maybe it's best to just assume everything.

From a male perspective:

Clear communication is very important. If a boy likes a girl, he will interpret small things like a flirt or a date means that she likes him in the same way. He may think it's an exclusive relationship if he is overcome with his emotions. If he doesn't like her, then he wouldn't spend time with her.

You've got to talk it out ;-)

the term relationship to me would indicate exclusivness , But if we have gone out a few times and we kinda like to hang out but its within the first coule months then I would say we have been dating a little bit . But its not exclusive untill you guys kinda talk and sorta make some kind of comitment . At least thats the way I would see it , ............good luck

It would be wrong to automatically assume, but if you or him needs to know, then you should talk about it with them. Feel them out and find out what your are looking for and if you are both on the same page. Communication is vital in any relationship or friendship.

First month I might agree especially when you are still getting to know each other. But when the relationship is on, it is on or someone is going to be hurt.
