I've always thought it was the same thing but just a different way of saying it.

Begin called pretty is to say your are attractive to the eyes and attract males but also other women are envious of your looks
being called pretty is very much surrounded with a youth side of things as women get older we tend to get called beautifully rather then pretty

to be told your beautiful i think means you as a person inside and out , you dont have to try to be beautifull you just are as with the older we get thing as said above we get wiser we learn we live were beautiful

beinf told you are beautiful i personaly think is a much nicer thing

i always think of it like this:

- pretty is less meaningful even though its still a lovely thing to call someone.

- beautiful can not only mean physically filled with beauty but also being a beautiful person, personality, friend etc. i guess beautiful has more meaning and more ways of taking it.

gd question

Pretty usually is used in a non sexual reference, while beautiful has more emphasis, and therefore is more often used to indicate sexual interest as well.

For instance, you might tell a little girl they have a pretty dress. You'll hear someone say a beautiful woman is "hot" but you won't hear "that pretty girl is hot".

It is basically the same meaning, just a matter of emphasis.

They can mean the same thing as they are both subjective. Both can be used to describe personalities or physical appearance... that flower is pretty/beautiful. Beautiful seems to have more power or emphasis. Pretty seems to be more like "Cute." Beautiful seems to go with "Attractive"
Have fun.

Pretty is the same as beautiful except maybe beautiful would be used to express your liking of somebody more deeply than pretty.

Personality...substance, conviction..intelligence. That's what makes the difference. Jessica Simpson is pretty. Shania Twain or Catherine-Zetta Jones.....beautiful.

I think when a guy says you are pretty it's because you have characteristics that he finds attractive in a kinda cute sort of way.

I think when a guy says you are beautiful then he finds something about you that stands out from the crowd.

Pretty on the outside, beautiful inside and out.

Ya know that whole "Beauty is more than skin deep" or something? It's like that. Pretty is a surface face. And beautiful is kind-of like your personality shining through-so it makes you more than pretty.
