im a walmart shopper big time. well i just heard that walmart is doing away with their layaway. where i live, it'll be this november, but it will be all walmarts. that sucks for me cuz thats how i do birthdays and xmas for my kids. guess i'll do kmart or target.just wanted to let ya'll know

I heard on the news this morning that they were doing away with layaway. But I haven't been able to find anything on there web site that says that.

I love walmart too, according to some of my friends that work there they are getting rid of layaway in November. Another friend of mine gets a giftcard on Jan. 1 with 10 or 20$ on it and then everytime she shops she adds at least 10$ to it. Then she has all the money she needs for Christmas. Gift cards don't exprire and there are no fees on them unless you don't use them for like two years...
Target doesn't have layaway either as far as I know. Good luck.

Well, it is good you know in advance, maybe you could start a gift jar or open another bank account and put a few $$ away each week and save before you buy =)
To be honest I have never actually used layaway and would have never guessed walmart had it.... but i coud see how you would be dissappionted =(

I love walmart to I have a bunch of friends that work there and they are trying to get rid of layaway where I live but not sure if they are going to thats what my friends have told me.

I knew they had layaway -- but I've never used it. That sucks if its true. Some people just can't do the holidays they way they want to without it ... plus it helps your cash flow for the family...and also helps you get them some extra special things they deserve. I love Walmart!! I never used there lay way but I know a lot of people who have that kind of sucks that they won't be doing it anymore.
